Il software è uno strumento utile per i webmaster che necessitano di copiare tutti i file del sito web realizzato sul server per pubblicarlo online. Il programma è semplice da utilizzare e si presenta con un'interfaccia estremamente intuitiva.

FileZilla Client supporta connessioni FTP, FTP su SSL/TLS (FTPS) e SSH (SFTP)oltre al nuovo protocollo IPv6. Il software permette il trasferimento di file con dimensioni superiori a 4GB. Grazie alla funzione drag and drop per avviare un trasferimento basta trascinare il file nell'area che indica lo spazio del server. Il programma è completamente gratuito ed è disponibile in lingua italiana. Per avviare un'operazione di trasferimento basta, grazie alla funzione drag and drop, trascinare il file dall'area che rappresenta il computer locale all'area che rappresenta il server oppure viceversa.

FileZilla Client ha un'interfaccia semplice ed intuitiva suddivisa in quattro aree principali, in quella superiore vengono visualizzati tutti i messaggi scambiati con il server, in quella inferiore è possibile visualizzare lo stato di trasferimento dei file e le due centrali rappresentano, quella di sinistra il computer locale e quella di destra l'area del server. È possibile salvare i dati di accesso ai server in modo da non dover reinserire le informazioni ad ogni accesso.
