[html_it]FXP sta per "File eXchange Protocol" e permette di copiare file direttamente tra due server FTP. Naturalmente è possibile usare il programma anche come il più classico dei client FTP, in entrambi i casi possiede molte carattestiche interessanti.

FlashFXP presenta un'interfaccia sullo stile di Explorer, permette di importare liste da altri client FTP e di avviare un download o un upload con un veloce drag and drop. Inoltre è in grado di eseguire i trasferimenti in ordine sequenziale, gestendo istantaneamente qualsiasi sito che richieda una username e una password e permette di calcolare le dimensioni dei files e di regolare la velocità di upload e download per conservare l'ampiezza di banda. Le caratteristiche che lo rendono interessante sono
un sistema di crash recovery allo scopo di assicurare che i trasferimenti di file vengano sempre effettuati in un arco di tempo ragionevole. Infatti riconnette automaticamente e riprende (resume) qualsiasi trasferimento ancora in coda.
una opzione anti-idle per mantenere la connessione sempre attiva e di una skip list per "saltare" alcuni tipi di file.
le due connessioni simultanee a due server, che permenttono di lanciare il download da un server all'altro sfruttando l'ampia banda di cui sono dotati i due computer remoti. Per fare ciò il programma commuta la normale Active Connection in Passive Connection e, utilizzando particolari comandi FTP (quali il comando PORT), permette ai due server di comunicare tra di loro.
la possibilità di personalizzare la comparazione tra i files nelle due cartelle.
Il programma poi raggruppa i siti FTP favoriti in un unico menu per velocizzarne l'accesso. In più ricordiamo la possibilità di impostare i bookmarks, creare liste dettagliate di siti, supportare liste di siti provenienti da altri client FTP, caricare e cancellare intere directory, supportare proxy e socks e conservare delle statistiche dei trasferimenti effettuati per ciascun sito.
