Skype è un software Voip che permette di effettuare telefonate e teleconferenze utilizzando la connessione ad Internet. Il software offre la possibilità, a pagamento, di chiamare numeri di rete fissa e cellulari. Integra un client di messaggistica istantanea per lo scambio di messaggi in tempo reale. L'utente è sempre a conoscenza dello stato dei contatti personali. Il programma dispone di una funzione per l'invio di file e contatti.

In questa versione sono stati risolti numerosi bug tra cui:
problema sulla sicurezza che portava il crash dell'applicazione;
problema che bloccava skype in caso di riavvio;
crash dell'applicazione alla fine della chiamata;
problema di funzionalità invio di soldi;
blocco del funzionamento della webcam con alcuni dispositivi.

Skype è uno dei più popolari software Voip per telefonate e teleconferenze via Internet. A pagamento si possono chiamare anche numeri di rete fissa e cellulari. Integra un client di messaggistica istantanea e varie funzioni come videochiamate ad alta risoluzione, invio di file e numerosi "extra" creati da terzi: utlità di vario tipo che spaziano dal campo luidico a quello più professionale. Rispetto alla 3.6.0.224 le funzionalità principali rimangono quasi immutate. Il miglioramento più importante è relativo alla sicurezza, e cioè alla vulnerabilità del Cross-zone scripting che era stata evidenziata in gennaio. A rischio erano tutti gli utenti delle versioni 3.5 e 3.6 che in particolari circostanze potevano consentire l'esecuzione di codice arbitrario a malintenzionati: ad esempio aggiungendo alla chat un video dalla galleria Dailymotion. Gli altri cambiamenti riguardano piccoli bug e imprecisioni che portavano a crash improvisi, perdita occasionale di contatti, e numerosi altri.

Skype consente di effettuare telefonate VoIP, gratuitamente verso altri utenti Skype.

Mediante SkypeOut, è possibile chiamare telefoni fissa e cellulari in tutto il mondo (prezzi), però con scatto alla risposta.
Con SkypeIn, si può avere un proprio numero di telefono sul quale ricevere chiamate anche dagli apparecchi fissi (per ora non disponibile per numeri italiani).

Skype consente anche di videochiamare (usando una webcam), e di inviare SMS (a pagamento). E' presente la lista completa delle funzionalità.
Comunque, è ben specificato cosa è gratis, e cosa non lo è.

Skype 3.8.0.115

È sempre il programma più usato per telefonate tramite computer. Le novità di questa versione di Skype sono miglioramenti sulla qualità del suono e delle chiamate quali riduzione del rumore di sottofondo, del ritardo e delle interruzioni improvvise. Aumentata la facilità di cambiare gli accessori (cuffia, microfono, auricolari) che viene gestita in modo semplice e automatico. Skype si distingue dagli altri softphone VoIP proprio per la pretesa superiorità riguardo al supporto audio e video ad alta risoluzione. Le impostazioni consigliate dalla casa per ottenere un High Quality Video (video ad alta qualità) sono un processore dual-core e una banda di almeno 380kb, oltre che ovviamente una webcam di qualità. Sul piano delle tariffe telefoniche i prezzi verso la telefonia fissa e mobile rimango economici. L'ultima offerta riguarda la possibilità di sottoscrivere un piano a chiamate illimitate verso la linea telefonica fissa: uno o più paesi ad un fisso mensile (da tre a dieci euro circa a seconda del piano scelto). Per il resto le capacità del softphone rimangono le stesse di sempre: teleconferenze, invio SMS, deviazione chiamate, instant messaging e molto altro. Senza contare i numerosi extra gratuiti per il lavoro e il divertimento che vengono sfornati in continuazione dalla collaborazione di terze parti.

Skype: nuova versione per sanare una falla
Skype ha da poco rilasciato il terzo bollettino di sicurezza dell'anno invitando tutti gli utenti del client VoIP ad aggionarsi tempestivamente all'ultima versione 3.8.0.139.

La vulnerabilità di sicurezza, adesso sanata, potrebbe consentire ad un malintenziato di eseguire codice potenzialmente dannoso sul sistema dell'utente invitandolo a cliccare su un indirizzo file: opportunamente modificato.

Torna quindi nuovamente alla ribalta una lacuna legata alla non corretta gestione degli URI. Questo tipo di problemi non riguardano soltanto Skype ma anche molti altri software. Per maggiori informazioni sull'argomento, suggeriamo di consultare questo nostro articolo.

L'ultima versione di Skype è prelevabile gratuitamente facendo riferimento a questa pagina. L'installazione può essere avviata anche in presenza, sul sistema in uso, di una precedente versione del client VoIP: il setup provvederà ad effettuare l'aggiornamento del programma all'ultima release disponibile.

Skype 4.0.0.145 beta

Rilasciata la versione numero quattro diSkype. Si tratta del famoso programma VoIP usato per effettuare chiamate via internet tramite computer. Pur essendo decisamente stabile si tratta pur sempre di una versione beta, per cui alcune funzioni della versione 3.8 mancano perchè non sono state ancora implementate, ma sono attese presto. É sempre possibile fare videochiamate ad alta definizione, avviare conferenze, inviare SMS, chattare e condividere file. Sono in pratica mantenute tutte le le funzionalità principali, compresa la possibilità di usare gli extra che hanno finalmente una voce apposita nel menu "strumenti".
Ciò che cambia maggiormente è infatti l'impostazione grafica e una nuova struttra dei menu. Innanzi tutto l'interfaccia a schermo intero. Sulla sinistra abbiamo una colonna fissa - e quindi sempre visibile - per i contatti. Il resto dello spazio viene liberato per l'esecuzione dei comandi sui contatti selezionati, e infine per dare spazio a immagini di default più grandi durante le videochiamate. Sarà possibile poi raggruppare i contatti e avere l'archivio conversazioni raggiungibile con un clic, per riprendere direttamente da dove si era rimasti.

Skype 4.0.0.161

[html_it]Il team di sviluppo Skype in questa versione ha introdotto diversi miglioramenti, soprattutto per quanto riguarda la qualità e le funzioni video.
L'interfaccia, rivista nella grafica, ora risulta più facile da gestire anche dai meno esperti.

La gestione dei singoli contatti è molto più completa, è ora possibile decidere quale parte del client va dedicata alla chat, quale all'avatar e quale alle informazioni personali. Ma per chi lo volesse è sempre disponibile la visualizzazione classica.

Chi utilizza Skype sia per lavoro che per svago, troverà interessante la possibilità di dividere in gruppi i propri contatti.

Per il momento questa versione beta (2) è disponibile solo per piattaforme Windows, ma sicuramente non tarderanno ad arrivare anche le altre.
